Listening to a podcast the other evening and the focus of that particular episode was how to examine your days--at the close of each day. Reflect on your time. A challenge to ask yourself questions--journal your answers to see God's provision--His goodness--His mercy. Be grateful.
Questions like, 'Were there times of glad? Times of life today? Where did I see the light? What do we need to let go, go to sleep, and let God?
And the questions--they were good questions. Some that left me numb.
A day--every day starts and closes the same. A beginning. And an end.

Much is said about how to end a day. But how is it we start our day? Most of us, if we are truthful have calendars--jammed packed with meetings after meetings, tasks to do, places to be, appointments for our children, ourselves, practices, sports schedules.....and some days--everything gets checked off--and some days, nothing goes as planned.
Reflecting on our own personal calendar--our 'to-do' tasks--where is it we have included God within our days? Maybe it's a devotional, a quick reading of His word in the early morning before work and then maybe journaling, prayers before bed--all while fighting to stay awake.
God doesn't punch a clock and say, I'll see you after work, after dinner, after the kids go to bed. I'll be back then. He is with us. Every single moment. Every single beating of our heart. And sometimes we forget that. That we need Him. That He wants to be included in our days.

So what about those questions at the beginning of the day? Questions we can write on our calendar days, write in our planners, plug into our notes in my phone. Questions we can reflect on throughout the day. Answers that reveal God's presence, not just in the sunrises and the sunsets, but in the small things throughout the day.
1. Where will I look for God today?
2. Where will I look for opportunities to serve others? Serve Him?
3. When will I take time to pray throughout the day, who needs the lifting of my prayers to His throne on this particular day? The prayer list--specific needs--the heartbroken--mourning--in need of healing......who?
4. What Bible verse will I carry in my pocket today? Make it my own.
5. Is there a worship song, an old hymn on repeat in my heart? Today.
And the next two questions--the answers will always be the same. But they need to be asked. Every. Single. Day.
6. What will I hold onto today? Your word. Your promise.
And question number 7--Who will I turn to today, no matter what comes? YOU Lord, I will cling to YOU.
The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; He will save, He will rejoice over thee with joy; He will rest in His love, He will joy over thee with singing.
Zephaniah 3:17
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God,
He it is that doth go with thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Deuteronomy 31:6

Hello Tathel, I loved your list of writers on Emily P Freeman's IG about long form content. That led me to this lovely post of 7 questions. I can hear the heartbeat of your own love for God and your heart for serving in these words. As AV would say, it's grace to meet you💛
